I tried Marlin 1.1.9, 1.1.x bugfix, 2,0,x bugfix and i even tried Repertier 1.0.4 (Motherboard 33) - its always the same: no voltage on D8,D9,D10

Anet A8 Ramps 1.6 no Voltage on D8,D9,D10 (not heating)

Hi,

I Upgraded my Anet A8 from Original to Ramps 1.6 with Marlin 1.8.10.
I can read the temperature from the hotend and the bed, and when i set the bed or hotend to heat up, there isn't even voltage on the connectors for them.

As a board i set BOARD_RAMPS_14_EFB.

Even the Fan which is connected to D9 doesn't start.

I tried Marlin 1.1.9, 1.1.x bugfix, 2.0,x bugfix and i even tried Repertier 1.0.4 (Motherboard 33) - its always the same: no voltage on D8,D9,D10

Its just problem of your display beeing to slow (lik mine), i added the ST7920_Delay setting, since that time its fine
#define REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER
#define ST7920_DELAY_1 DELAY_NS(63)
#define ST7920_DELAY_2 DELAY_NS(63)
#define ST7920_DELAY_3 DELAY_NS(63) // this is the defaults for a 16mhz processor (ie a mega2560)

if you probe from power -ve to D8 + do you get 12v as you always should

If you get no voltage. you have a blown fuse

Second if you measure from power -ve to D8 - you should also get 12v when the mosfet is off and 0v when on.

Re: Marlin 2.0; run PID autotune from SD card?

Hi, I am trying that in another topic. I run an MKS SBase 1.3, with a normal smart controller, not the touch screen from MKS which proved to be the big problem in my set-up. This now works well for about two years, I just added a heated bed and need to run the PID autotune.

It runs over port COM3, USB connection, and the baud rate of both the Marlin software and the Pronterface settings is 115200.

Cheers,

G'Day Gang,
I am getting the error below when trying to compile marlin bugfix 2 on a MKS Gen L V1 board. and a REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER
Any ideas why this is happening?

Scientific project

Hi everyone.
I hope it is good place to put that subject. If not please Admin could You correct it?
I’m trying to build calibration equipment for echosounder. How the calibration looks like: link

That is practically very big Delta printer without extruder.
Each engine (winch) is steering wireless (two way) with LoRa communication. The setup what I have is remote control with display and PS2 pad.
All stepper engines are with battery, Arduino, driver (TCM2130) and communication board. On my software a can move only one engine on the same time because all engines are not coordinated. I think that using existing software will be easier for upgrade it in the future.
This is not commercial project only scientific. It doesn't have to be super accurate.
I thought that remote control will be “master” board with Marlin firmware, and it will be sending commands to each engine separately (or together). Other “slave” board will be controlling the engines and of course position, with every maybe 10sec will be sending back to the “master”.

My problem is that I have no idea where in the “master” program should I disconnect software from engines and put their communication function.
Do someone of You know where is the place inside the program where are, let say, commands: “Left engine move 200 steps, Right 300 and Front -20 steps”?

Multiple heater/cartridge for one extruder ?

Dear marlin community,

After spending days looking for a solution I'm asking here.
Is it possible to control 2 (or more) cartridges for one extruder ?

I want to use a pellets extruder with 2 (or more) heated zones but with 1 stepper motor. Each heated zone has a different temperature.
Marlin is ready to use mutiples temp_sensors but here how it works

temp_sensor 0 = extruder 1
temp_sensor_1 = extruder 2
temp_sensor_2 = extruder 3

Marlin doesn't allow to use a temp_sensor_2 without 3 extruder declared in configuration.h And for each extruder its wants a motor with “step” and “dir” pins declared…
The only solution I have to try is to create a “fake” extruder and use its temp_sensor for my pellets extruder. I have to declare fake pin for motor “step” “dir”…

Any other solution ?

Thank you for your answer.

A guess from looking at the code.

In Configuration.h is

/**
* Info Screen Style (0:Classic, 1: Prusa)
*
* :[0:'Classic', 1:'Prusa']
*/
#define LCD_INFO_SCREEN_STYLE 0

You have set #define LCD_INFO_SCREEN_STYLE 1

But Prusa screen are 20x4 char displays. This is not compatible with REPRAP_DISCOUNT_FULL_GRAPHIC_SMART_CONTROLLER

I am trying to upgrade to the SKR 1.3 but any version or preconfig 2.0 fails.
This is a preconfig I just tried. Same errors with the latest download version 2.xbugfix or any other. Alsoon 2 different laptops.

Dust - Thank you very much. It worked great. It did result in not enough memory, so I am currently trying to trim memory. I think I got everything I want when I went to 3 point bed level (vs bilinear). Now, in trimming more, I found I can use 'slim lcd menus.' this resulted in 7% memory pickup, which is significant (like 25% of my usable space)...so playing with that no as I haven't had a chance to load/try. The only reason I am trying is so I can choose between normal lcd with 3 point vs slim lcd and blinear.

Anyhow, thank you once again, much appreciated.

Not surprising... you shouldn't use 3rd party Marlin's as marlin has been rapidly changing on the LPC1768 and anyone who hasn't updated their code in the last few days will fail.

The version your trying to compile hasn't been updated in 7 months!

Grab the official current marlin [github.com] and edit the Configuration.h

Bltouch probe doesn't deploy/zero on G28/G29

I've wired my bltouch probe into the Z_MAX port on my SKR 1.3, left the Z axis stop switch in Z_MIN, and changed the settings to match. The probe lights up, deploys, retracts, selftests, reacts to input, and I can get TRIGGERED outputs from all three axis stop switches and the bltouch probe on an M119 command when depressed. The Z axis stop switch will still work for a G28, but I can't get the probe to deploy when it is homing or when it is doing bed leveling. Removing the Z axis stop switch, putting the probe in Z_Min, and changing the settings back doesn't work either, still won't deploy on homing or leveling, though it reads as Z_MIN instead of Z_PROBE during an M119 command

I also got the probing failed error and just fifured out the problem.The reason was my bed was to badly unleveled and not firmly installed,difference between 2 probe points was over 4mm.
After tightening a few screws and adjusting the bed to a better level,auto calibration can work now.

I remember having a similar problem like this on marlin 1.1.9. Not sure why but changing from AUTO_BED_LEVELING_BILINEAR to AUTO_BED_LEVELING_LINEAR and enabling Z_MIN_PROBE_USES_Z_MIN_ENDSTOP_PIN got me going. not shure about 2.0.x
