1.1.0 RC6: Z home turns off mesh bed leveling

I've been trying to get mesh bed leveling to work, because I believe my bed is slightly bowed. Auto bed leveling with a probe never seemed to work. I can do the mesh bed procedure, and all the offsets in my grid are positive. Is this the proper behavior? Printing results in air prints off the bed.

I've noticed that if I perform a Z home in pronterface by itself, mesh bed leveling gets turned off. A G28 command (Home all axes) or the Home all button does not exhibit this behavior.
